I’m inspired by all those little moments dog people know by heart: the sideways glance, the wonky sit, the expression that says they definitely didn’t do it. Those are the quirks I love to paint, because they’re what make your dog unmistakably yours.

Artist
I’m the artist behind Poochini, painting dogs from my Nottingham studio. Elegant, scruffy, soulful or slightly ridiculous, I’m interested in the little quirks that make each one unmistakably themselves.
Every piece is drawn and painted by hand using a combo of charcoal, pencil, acrylic and oil pastel. Perfection isn’t really the point. I’d much rather capture a familiar expression that makes you say, “That’s exactly them!”

Whether you’re commissioning a portrait, collecting an original painting, or choosing a fine art print, each piece is created slowly and intentionally in my UK studio.
Commissions begin with gentle guidance rather than rigid rules. You’ll share a few reference photos and a sense of your dog’s personality, and I’ll take care of the rest.
Original paintings and prints are made in the same spirit, led by observation, restraint, and character rather than photorealism.
The result is artwork that feels personal, shaped by the small details that make each dog unmistakably themselves.
